We strongly recommend looking for your accommodation before a
departure to London. Living in London is very expensive and you have
to be prepared to pay minimum £40/50 a week for your stay. Of course
the price depends on many factors, like: conditions of property,
economic location /which zone, number of people living there.
Another important thing is that most landlords will not rent a place
without a deposit-minimum 1 week deposit is required, although
usually it is equal to your 2 weeks or one month rent, and should be
given back to you when you leave according to the terms agreed in
the contract.
-
Try to find a place with people from different countries. It's a
proven way to learn languages faster.
-
Find number of people living there, number of toilets or size of a
kitchen. Seven people living in a place with only one bathroom and a
small kitchen will cost you lots of nerves and you can be sure you
will late to work quite often.
-
Location of a property is an important factor. Sometimes it is much
faster to travel to work from zone 3 to zone 1 than from one side of
zone 1 to another.
-
If you spend a little bit more on your rent, you will get a much
better place.
-
Living in a property where landlord does not require any deposit or
only a small one is often uncomfortable and can prove to be very
stressful. Places like that are messy, and people are moving in and
out all the time. Try to save money enough to look for more
comfortable place. Generally speaking, the higher deposit you pay
the higher standard of your accommodation is.
-
Most advertisements refer to double rooms. Single rooms are
expensive and, unless you have got enough money you will need to
share your room with someone else. If you haven’t got a room mate
yet, try finding him/her in our services offer (data base).
